Band Camp Reminders

Color guard, majorette, and dance line:

*Please refer to your sponsors for exact rehearsal times and locations for the week of July 17-21.

*Your rehearsal schedules and locations are sometimes a little different.

Instrumentalists – Music Camp – week of July 17-21:

*Unless you are on Leadership Team, your first day of rehearsal is Monday, July 17 from 8am to 12pm.

*Music Camp is OUTSIDE at Chelsea High School each day from July 17-21, 8am to 12pm.

*Bring lots of water, gatorade or powerade, sunscreen, hats, sunglasses, etc. You are encouraged to bring coolers or some type of method to keep the liquids cold.

*Wear laced tennis shoes. We will be marching.

*You will need your instrument.

Parking, drop-off and pick-up location for week of July 17-21:

*Parking and any drop-off or pick-up should be done from the student parking lot and not the back lot.

*However, beware of road construction on Highway 11. You may need to use the east entrance to the school (bus road) if construction is happening near the main entrance.

Band lockers:

*You may rent a locker in the band room for the year starting Monday, July 17.

*Band lockers are $5 cash.

Uniform fitting:

*As you know, we are awaiting our NEW band uniforms to be shipped.

*Instrumentalists will be fitted for uniforms as soon as they have arrived and have been organized.

*More details to follow.

ALL STUDENTS – week of July 24-28:

*We will rehearse with all students on the soccer field (not the front field) the week of July 24-28.

*Times for Monday, Wednesday, and Friday are 8am to 12pm.

*Times for Tuesday and Thursday are 8am to 3pm.

*If you did not purchase band camp lunch for Tuesday and Thursday through online registration, please bring your own lunch.

*We will begin learning drill for the halftime show.

*Bring LOTS of water, gatorade or powerade, sunglasses, hats, sunscreen, etc.

*You MUST hydrate and take care of yourself!

*You must wear laced tennis or athletic shoes.

Tents for band camp week:

*Students and parents may use tents for shade during the week of July 24-28, and July 31 and August 1.

*Tents can be set up on Sunday, July 23 on the soccer field starting at 2pm.

*This is not required and students often share tents.

*We are not responsible for the tents or items left out during that week.

*Tents must come down at the end of practice on August 1.

*Tents should be set up next to the fence on the perimeter of the field.

Rookie ceremony:

*Our new band members (rookies) will be assigned an older mentor who will help them throughout the season.

*The rookies and mentors will go through a fun ceremony at 11:45am on Friday, July 28.

*More details to follow.

Band pictures:

*Band pictures are scheduled for Wednesday, August 2, in the morning.

*These will be taken on the Chelsea High campus.

*We may need some modifications due to our new uniforms not being shipped yet.

*More details to follow.

Parent Preview show:

*Parent Preview of all of our hard work is scheduled for Thursday, August 3 at 7:00pm.

*This is always dependent on weather.

*More details to follow.
