Good morning,
The students have had a terrific week of camp and we are excited about putting it all together starting next week.
Please read carefully for information concerning next week and beyond.
ALL STUDENTS – week of July 22-26:
*We will rehearse outside on the soccer field all next week.
*The soccer field is in the far back corner of the CHHS campus, behind the new home bleachers.
*The times for Monday, Wednesday, and Friday are 8-12.
*The times for Tuesday and Thursday are 8-3.
*We will start on time and end on time. We do our best as directors to honor the times we publish. In return, please have students here before 8am each day so we can start on time.
*If you did not purchase band camp lunches for Tuesday and Thursday please bring your own lunch.
*We will begin learning the drill for the halftime show.
*Bring LOTS of water, gatorade or powerade.
*The students MUST stay hydrated.
*Bring and wear hats,sunglasses, sunscreen.
*Wear laced tennis shoes. No crocs and no sandals.
Tents for band camp – July 22 to July 30:
*Shade tents may be put up on the soccer field starting Sunday afternoon at 2pm.
*These can stay up until the end of practice on Tuesday, July 30. They must come down at that point.
*It is not necessary for every student to bring a tent. Most sections work out who will put up a tent and students then share.
*Chelsea HIgh and the band program are not responsible for any tents left out over the week or any items left with them (chairs, etc).
*Tents should be set up along the perimeter of the soccer field. Please do not tie the tents to the fence.
Rookie ceremony, July 26 at 11:45am:
*Our new band members (rookies) will be assigned an older mentor who will help them throughout the season.
*The rookies and mentors will go through a fun ceremony at 11:45am on Friday, July 26.
*Parents are invited to watch the festivities.
*More details to follow.
Band pictures, July 31:
*Band pictures by Iron City Studios are scheduled for Wednesday, July 31, in the morning.
*These will take place at CHHS.
*More details to follow.
Parent Preview show, August 1:
*Parent Preview is sheduled for Thursday, August 1 at 7:00pm.
*We will perform all that we’ve learned since the start of camp.
*This is always dependent on the weather.
